Will I lose weight doing this programme

Intuitive eating is about building a healthy relationship with food and your body. Throughout the programme we will work to find what a healthy weight is for your body, this is based on your natural regulators and genetics. One of the ways we do this is by learning to listen to your body’s natural appetite regulators and responding to them accordingly, enabling you to find your healthy weight.

What is intuitive Eating

Intuitive eating means breaking away from rigid and restrictive rules around food. The diet culture has left so many of us experiencing guilt when we crave or consume certain foods, often labelling foods as good or bad, naughty or clean. With intuitive eating you learn techniques to help you tune in to your internal food cues, mastering the art of eating what and when your body needs instead of being dictated to by the food police. It means no longer experiencing guilt for foods you’ve eaten and being able to clearly recognise your internal hunger and satiety signals. 

What happens after the 12 weeks?

12 weeks allows for enough time for you to be introduced to the concept of intuitive eating and start putting some of the tools and information in to practice. It’s important to remember that everyone will move at a different pace, and if you try and rush through the exercises and worksheets you may hit stumbling blocks further down the line – so take your time. If at the end of the 12 weeks you feel you would like to continue the programme you can always extend your programme. 

How is this different to other diet programmes

Other diet programmes involve strict calorie counting and lists of foods that you may or may not eat, what you consume is dictating to you by your calorie allowance or pre-determined meal plan. With intuitive eating we acknowledge that every day is different and that no one knows what our body needs better than our body. The only thing that dictates what you may or may not eat is your body’s internal appetite regulators. No restricted foods, no guilt or shame for eating your favourite foods instead you’ll work towards naturally finding a balance that promotes your healthy weight. 

Will my PCOS symptoms disappear? 

The goal here is absolutely to reduce your PCOS symptoms, including regular ovulation. Whilst your symptoms may not disappear completely (remember there is no cure for PCOS), we will work towards understanding what the root cause of your symptoms are and provide you with the tools to manage them accordingly.
